The two main points to remember when choosing a recovery program

There are two tricks to buying computer recovery software. The first is to make sure you buy an all in one general purpose data recovery tool. Many companies sell software for specific purposes such as photo recovery or Microsoft Word recovery. Their premise is that these targeted programs are better for each individual purpose. This is completely untrue, as these programs are simply general purpose programs filtered so as to not allow you to locate and recover many different file types. Honestly, the whole purpose of this is just to trick you into buying more programs.

So, the first pitfall to avoid when buying computer recovery software is a “specialized” program. The next trick you want to steer clear of is easier to recognize. This is simply that of programs being overpriced. A fair and honest price to pay for a quality general purpose data recovery program is around 40 to 70 dollars. If a program costs more than that and claims to do more, you can rest assured that the sellers are simply fishing for dollars. Almost all file recovery programs are alike, with the exception of the few quality programs that also allow you to access a crashed hard drive by means of a special recovery disk.
