Restoring Word files in specific circumstances
It is amazing how many people search online for a data recovery program specifically designed to help them recover Word document files. While there are instances where you may need software designed to find a Microsoft Word document, most of the time when a Microsoft document has been lost the Word program itself will have made a copy and presented it for you to resave. This is especially true if you have incurred a power loss or other interruption of service while working on a project and have not had a chance to save that file. Simply reopen Microsoft Word upon powering your PC again. In the left hand column will be a list of all recently worked on projects, including those that you didn’t get a chance to save.
Now, if you were given the option of saving the file and accidentally chose to close it without saving, that is a different issue. In those instances, you will benefit by using a file recovery program to scan your entire hard drive. The recoverable files list can then be looked over for the specific file types that Microsoft Word auto saves into. These are the temporary files made on a default time schedule. Locating these files and recovering them will generally allow you to save hours of lost work. Almost every data recovery program will work well to recover word document files.
